NEW DELHI: A classmate of 16-year-old Shourya Patil, a Class X student of St Columba’s School who died by suicide, alleged that one of the accused teachers would often use him as an example of under-performing students. Students also claimed that Patil had informed the school counsellor about having suicidal thoughts weeks before his death, but the concern was dismissed as a “joke” and never shared with his parents. On Saturday, as the protest against Patil’s alleged harassment entered its fourth day, his friends, relatives, members of his father’s gold-trading fraternity and several parents gathered at Jantar Mantar.
