Neglect and abandonment can be devastating for any animal, especially for dogs. It’s even more heartbreaking when they lose trust in humans, and in some cases, forget how to show the joyful behaviors they naturally have.

This was the reality for 18 Doodle dogs discovered wandering the streets of Whatcom County, Washington.

These dogs, all from the same expensive and popular breed, led rescuers to believe they had come from a single careless breeder. Tragically, this fact only added to the sadness of their situation.

Too Timid To Leave Their Kennels

The rescue team quickly recognized the severity of the situation when many of the dogs were too scared to even step outside their kennels.
