Opposition Leader Sussan Ley has been dealt another major blow, with the latest Newspoll showing the Coalition's support at a historic low.

The poll, conducted for The Australian between Monday and Thursday last week, shows Labor now has a 58-42 lead over the Coalition in two-party-preferred, while the Coalition's primary vote remains at a dismal 24 per cent - the equal lowest level since primary votes were first counted by Newspoll back in 1985.

Labor's primary vote also remained steady at 36 per cent, while One Nation again achieved a primary vote of 15 per cent.

Ms Ley’s net approval rating improved slightly, rising from -33 to -29 per cent, with 26 per cent approving and 55 per cent disapproving of her performance.
