Several Aadhaar cards were found abandoned outside a park in Salt Lake in Kolkata Sunday morning amid the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls in West Bengal.
Morning joggers noticed the Aadhaar cards lying on the side of the BA-CA playground. The cards had addresses from Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra. The residents quickly informed the local police, and the Bidhannagar North police recovered the Aadhaar cards.
A senior officer said, “It is unusual that Aadhaar cards were found dumped here. The Aadhaar cards belong to different states, and how they ended up here is a mystery. We are investigating the matter.”
