A New York City subway rider was stabbed after asking another man to lower the volume of his speaking voice

The man allegedly punched the victim in the face several times before stabbing him in the abdomen

A man is recovering in a hospital after another man allegedly stabbed him for being asked to lower the volume of his voice during a phone call.

According to a statement from the New York Police Department (NYPD), officers were called to the Jamaica Center/Parsons and Archer subway station in Queens at around 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22.

A 54-year-old, whose identity has not been made public, told officers that he had been stabbed while aboard the E train.
