A driver ‘kicked off’ at police officers, biting one on the hand three times, during a routine traffic stop.
Reece Brown, 22, bit and kicked the officers when he reacted violently to being stopped and having his vehicle searched.
James Yearsley, prosecuting, said Brown was pulled over while driving a Ford Transit through Consett on October 2, 2023.
He said the defendant left one of the officers with a significant hand injury which resulted in him being off work for around three months.
Brown, of Queens Gate, Consett, pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm and assault on an emergency worker following the incident more than two years ago.
