DEAR READER: Back in the day, negative doubles showed support for both unbid suits. In that style, two diamonds would indicate a minimum with four diamonds. Some would argue that this no longer applies, but I do not agree. I'd jump to three diamonds with extras, so two diamonds shows a minimum, typically 4-5 in the minors. With a game-forcing reverse, I start with a cue bid.
