A newly developed light and sound project at the iconic Konark Sun Temple was officially inaugurated on Sunday, marking a major boost to heritage tourism in Odisha. The state-of-the-art facility, created by the State Tourism Department at a cost of over Rs 6 crore, aims to offer visitors a more immersive and engaging experience of the historic 13th-century monument.

The project was inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, who highlighted the significance of upgrading visitor experiences at one of Odisha’s most treasured UNESCO World Heritage Sites. According to officials, the new facility can now accommodate around 300 tourists per show, a notable increase from the earlier capacity of 200.
