Two 16-year-old boys have been arrested following the assault of a special needs student at a high school in Newport, Rhode Island.
Newport police say they were made aware Friday of several cell phone recordings where an assault occurred in the boy's locker room at Rogers High School .

During their investigation, detectives identified the suspect as a 16-year-old local male and Rogers High School student. That boy was taken into custody Friday and is being charged with two counts of felony assault on persons with severe impairments, according to police, who said it was determined he had assaulted the victim on two separate occasions.
