JACKSON, MI -- The Jackson County Animal Shelter, 3770 Spring Arbor Road, has many pets available for adoption.

Here are two of them.

Star is a beautiful 2-year-old Great Pyrenees dog who came to the shelter as a transfer from another overcrowded facility.

She is the sweetest girl and is very gentle and calm. This calm giant is 92 pounds of love, who has a tail wag for everyone.

Pyrenees are known to be good with children, protective of their home and good with other pets. She walks nicely on the leash and is not a barker or a jumper.

Star has a beautiful thick, dense haircoat that will require regular brushing. She doesn’t like it when the all the other dogs are barking but prefers a quiet walk outdoors where she can sniff around.
