BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - Fifteen residents are displaced after a fire broke out at a four-story apartment building on Grove Street early Saturday morning.
The Burlington Fire Department responded to 32 Grove Street just before 2 a.m. for a reported structure fire. When they arrived, crews say they found heavy fire showing from the second floor.
The incident was then upgraded to a second alarm, bringing more crews to the scene. The blaze was under control by 2:30 a.m., according to the department.
One resident sustained minor injuries and was evaluated by emergency services. The 15 displaced residents are receiving assistance from the building owner and the American Red Cross.
The cause of the fire is undetermined. The Burlington Fire Marshal’s Office is actively investigating.
