CNN is reporting that there could be a big shakeup in President Donald Trump’s cabinet as the president closes out the first year of his second term in the White House.
And a well-known Republican is being touted to quickly step into any vacancy.
CNN said that there could be changes at the top of the Department of Homeland Security, a high-profile agency in Trump’s battle against illegal immigration.
While Trump is said to happy with DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, top White House officials are said to be growing weary of Noem’s chief advisor, Corey Lewandowski.
“The President loves Kristi. He loves the job she’s doing,” one senior White House official told CNN.
But there is some concern about how much power Lewandowski is amassing in what is technically a temporary role at DHS.
