The Forest Department and wildlife rescue experts have launched a search and capture operation after a leopard was sighted in RBI Colony and Singh Society in Aundh, a heavily urbanised suburban pocket of Pune, in the early hours of Sunday. Officials believe the animal may have wandered in from forested areas on the city’s outskirts, possibly crossing populated stretches along the river before entering the neighbourhood.
