An Indian-origin man who had been on the run for nearly a year and a half has finally been caught in Toronto. Twenty-three-year-old Nicholas Singh, a federal offender who disappeared while on statutory release, was among the people featured on Canada’s “most wanted" list.

Singh had been “unlawfully at large" since May 31, 2024. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) had even put out an appeal in August, warning the public that he was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant. He is serving a sentence of five years, five months and ten days for armed robbery and other offences.

His run came to an end late Friday night. Police said officers found him sitting inside a vehicle near Bathurst and Dupont streets around 11.20 PM. He was taken into custody on the
