SALT LAKE CITY — Early Saturday morning a wrong-way driver on Interstate 80 caused a multiple vehicle crash, leading to several people being transported to the hospital.
On I-80 at about mile marker 118 by Interstate 215 West, the crash blocked Eastbound traffic.
Trooper Davies Sanchez with the Utah Highway Patrol said that the SLCPD had been pursuing the suspect on foot but had to stop when the suspect got in a vehicle.
UHP troopers were called in to assist when the suspect was thought to have gotten on the highway going the wrong direction.
Trooper found the vehicle in a wrong-way crash.
Sanches said multiple people have been transported to the hospital with injuries but there have been no fatalities so far. No specifics of injuries have been given at this time. No exact number of p
