A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital after a crash in Edinburgh . ‌

Emergency services raced to Longstone Road at the Calder Roundabout at around 1.50pm on Sunday afternoon, after concerned locals reported the collision. ‌

A photograph taken by a nearby resident showed multiple police units and paramedics at the scene as they worked to assist the injured rider. ‌

The motorcyclist was treated at the roadside before being taken to hospital as a precaution. Their condition is not currently known, reports EdinburghLive.

The crash caused delays for drivers in the area as police closed the northbound stretch of Longstone Road and urged motorists to avoid the route while emergency crews remained in attendance. Article continues below
