The Boston Red Sox won the Alex Bregman free agency sweepstakes last winter, but they had to give him a very player-friendly deal to get him to Fenway Park.

Bregman had a very good season with the Red Sox. He was one of their better players, but he used the opt-out clause in his contract to land back in free agency this winter. As a result, the star infielder is likely going to land a huge deal to lock him up for a chunk of the rest of his career.

Zach Mentz of Cleveland.com recently projected Bregman would sign a blockbuster six-year, $174 million deal in free agency this winter.
