England should make full use of the long break before the second Test by training specifically under lights with the pink ball, former Ashes-winning captain Michael Vaughan has suggested.

After being crushed inside two days in Perth, England trail Australia 0-1 in the five-match Ashes series and now have until December 4 to regroup before the day-night Test in Brisbane.

What makes the challenge steeper is Australia’s formidable record — they have won 13 of their 14 day-night Tests, including all three against England. Vaughan said that once emotions settle, England must rethink their preparations and adjust their training schedule to ensure players stay sharp heading into the Gabba clash.
