From page to screen, a 1977 Youngstown will be reimagined during the film premiere of "Brier Hill" at the Columbiana Arts Theater on Nov. 28 and Nov. 29.

Based on the novel by Jimmy Taaffee, who also directed the film, "Brier Hill" is about a couple who have lived their lives in the Brier Hill area of Youngstown and become entangled with the Mancini crime family. Local cast, crew and community members have contributed to bringing this story to life.

"This isn’t a fairytale—it’s the raw, unfiltered story of Youngstown in 1977," an Instagram post promoting the film states.

With the original premiere only set to take place on Nov. 28, the Nov. 29 showing was added due to the first showing "nearing a complete sell-out," with tickets purchased ahead of the event.
