ATLANTA — Pitt football has clawed its way back into the AP poll after a one-week absence. An 42-28 upset win over then No. 16 Georgia Tech in Atlanta has elevated Pat Narduzzi’s club from unranked to the No. 24 spot in the latest top-25 rankings.

It marks the 321st week in program history, but only the second week this season that the Panthers have been ranked in the AP poll. They reached No. 23 on the strength of a five-game winning steak ahead of their Week 12 contest against Notre Dame, then fell out following a 22-point loss. Now, after notching their sixth straight victory in ACC play and sixth win in seven games, the Panthers are a ranked team once again.
