HAMMOND - The Southeastern Louisiana University football team will play against Illinois State in the first round of the NCAA FCS playoffs this week, according to an article by WDSU.
The Lions, who earned the No. 16 national seed, will host the Redbirds in Strawberry Stadium on Saturday in Hammond.
The game kicks off at noon with the winner going on to face the No. 1 seed, North Dakota State.
This marks Southeastern's sixth time playing in the NCAA FCS playoffs in the program's history, having previously played in the postseason during the 2013, 2014, 2019, 2021 and 2022 seasons.
This is also the team's fourth time entering the playoffs under head coach Frank Scelfo.
