Michigan State’s first Big Ten win of the season remains elusive as the Spartans lost on a walk-off field goal to Iowa in the penultimate game of the year.
As MSU (3-8, 0-8 Big Ten) continues to come up short, the offense was once again the main culprit for disappointing play as the unit scored just three points in the first half and failed to put up points in their final four drives, resulting in a 20-17 defeat to the Hawkeyes (7-4, 5-3).
After another lackluster showing, Pro Football Focus gave the Spartans a 65.2 offensive grade, dragging down an impressive performance from the defense.
MSU kept the Hawkeyes without a reception until the closing minutes of the first half and didn’t give up a drive over 30 yards until late in the third quarter.
