It’s not every night that one gets to share the stage with blues legend Buddy Guy . And it’s also not every night that one is awarded the key to a major motion picture studio.
But that was how “ Sinners ” filmmaker Ryan Coogler spent his Friday evening, as he and his Proximity Media co-founders Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian received a key to the Warner Bros. lot in celebration of the vampire epic’s massive success.
“It was crazy to come to work every day on the Warners lot,” Ryan Coogler recalled as the trio accepted the historical artifact. “Even on days when it was really hard, I would come out of my post-production suite, and then it’d be like a little tour bus of people going by, who paid hard-earned money to just look at us work.”
