Gotham FC and its fans will get the New York championship celebration they didn’t have two years ago.
Fresh off winning their second NWSL title in three years Saturday night, Mayor Eric Adams announced Sunday that the city will host a championship ceremony on Monday at City Hall, where the team will be given the key to the city. Gates open at 9 a.m., and fans can register for free tickets online.
The city couldn’t logistically make a parade work because of preparations for Thursday’s Thanksgiving Day parade and Gotham was understanding about the situation, according to a team spokesperson.
