The Giants generated explosive plays, tricky or otherwise, and built a double-digit lead in the fourth quarter. Once again, they couldn't finish the job and fell to the Lions 34-27 in overtime.
Detroit came back and forced overtime on a 59-yard field goal with 28 seconds remaining in regulation. The Giants won the coin toss and elected to defer to start overtime. On the first play from scrimmage, Jahmyr Gibbs broke a 69-yard touchdown run to take the lead. Jameis Winston and the Giants needed a touchdown to respond, but Aidan Hutchinson ended it with the Lions' first sack of the game on fourth-and-five from the Lions 27.
It was the Giants' second overtime game of the season, both of which resulted in losses on the road. The Giants have now lost six consecutive games to fall
