The former CFO of a New Jersey based disability non-profit has been sentenced to prison in the theft of $2.5 million from the organization.

A judge sentenced Colleen Witten, 56, of Buena, to eight years in state prison earlier this month, the state Attorney General’s Office said in a statement. She pleaded guilty earlier this year to second-degree theft by unlawful taking and financial facilitation of criminal activity and third-degree failure to pay state taxes.

Witten worked for a Burlington County based non-profit from 2019 to 2024, first serving as the comptroller and later chief financial officer. The organization provides services to adults with disabilities, authorities said, but they did not identify the non-profit.
