CLEVELAND, Ohio — Six teams from Northeast Ohio have advanced to the OHSAA football state semifinals, which will take place at 7 p.m. Friday at various venues.
Two of those teams are across the street from each other, as Walsh Jesuit and Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy have reached the penultimate stage of the season. The Warriors, based on Wyoga Lake Road in Cuyahoga Falls, will challenge defending state champion Avon at the University of Akron’s InfoCision Stadium in the Division II state semifinals. It will be Walsh’s first final four since 1999, when it won its only state crown.
CVCA has never been this deep in the football postseason and will take on Toledo Central Catholic, which has reached Canton for the state finals three straight years, in a Division III semifinal. They will
