The Philadelphia Phillies have two huge free agents this offseason. Starting pitcher Ranger Suárez is one of the best pitchers on the market this winter, and it seems like the Phillies are content with letting him leave.
But the Phillies can't afford to lose Kyle Schwarber this winter. And Schwarber is projected to land a huge contract, which could complicate things for the Phillies.
Zach Mentz of Cleveland.com recently projected Schwarber would sign a massive four-year, $120 million deal in free agency this winter.
"Schwarber blasted a career-high 56 home runs this season, which led the National League, and a career-high 132 RBI, which led all of MLB," Mentz wrote. "The lefty masher is going to get paid. Would Philly really let Schwarber walk? He’ll have plenty of interested suitors.
