After a disappointing loss to UCF to begin the Legends Classic, Pitt hoped to bounce back with a win over mid-major Quinnipiac. The Panthers were already down a key player in Brandin Cummings — who missed the game due to an ankle injury — and they’d need major contributions across the board to win the game.

And they got some major contributions, mainly from Roman Siulepa having his best performance so far, but they were simply outplayed by the Bobcats. Every time Jeff Capel’s squad cut the lead to one or two possessions, Quinnipiac was there to take back momentum and ultimately defeated the Panthers 83-75 on Sunday afternoon at Petersen Events Center.
