MANCHESTER, N.H. —

Multiple fire crews responded to a second-alarm fire Saturday night at a home in Thornton.

Campton-Thornton Fire Rescue said the fire broke out just after 8:30 p.m. on Gore Road.

According to officials, the fire started in the chimney before spreading to the home's attic.

Crews spent about two hours putting out the fire. Authorities said the cause was a creosote plug.

Officials said smoke detectors alerted the people inside before the fire spread further.

The building sustained significant smoke and water damage. No one was hurt.
