Montana State coach Brent Vigen landed at Portland International Airport on Sunday afternoon, presumably to interview for the Oregon State job.
But one of the top coaches in FCS would not disclose the nature of his visit.
Final interviews at OSU are expected this week, and Vigen is believed to be among the top candidates for the job.
At the arrivals gate at PDX, when asked by The Oregonian/OregonLive whether he was in town to interview for the OSU job, Vigen declined to comment.
“I can’t say anything,” he said, visibly uncomfortable with the interaction.
Vigen, 50, is 57-12 in five seasons at Montana State. The Bobcats (10-2) just beat rival Montana, 31-28, on Saturday as they prepare to chase a FCS national championship.
