Detroit – The Lions were teetering, their hopes on hold, their crowd on edge. It would take a remarkable series of events to pull this one out. Good thing for them, they have players capable of remarkable events.

They looked doomed, down 10 in the fourth quarter, their offense sputtering, their defense backtracking. They needed a big play, or two, or three, and they got them all, turning a potentially crushing defeat into an improbable 34-27 overtime victory against the New York Giants Sunday at Ford Field.
