Blue Badge holders could in some circumstances face a parking fine for using a disabled parking space. The Blue Badge scheme is designed to assist those with disabilities or health conditions, allowing them to park closer to their destination.
The scheme permits the badge holder, or anyone travelling in the same vehicle, to use a disabled parking bay or even park on double yellow lines. Financial benefits are also part of the scheme, as badge holders often receive free parking in disabled bays and certain car parks. Moreover, the badge isn't tied to a specific vehicle and can be used in any car, including taxis, as long as the holder is present.
