Kevin Thelwell and Patrick Stewart have paid the price for Rangers’ dismal start to the season after being sacked by Ibrox chief Andrew Cavenagh . ‌

The pair were responsible for this summer’s hiring of Russell Martin as gaffer and a £40million squad revamp. ‌

But the costly overhaul has proved to be a disaster as they were forced to axe the former Southampton coach after 122 chaotic days. ‌

A ragged start to the season both at home and in Europe has led to furious protests in the stands, with fans taking aim at both sporting director Thelwell and chief executive Stewart even after Martin was replaced by Danny Rohl .

Now chairman Cavenagh and his partner from the San Francisco 49ers Paraag Marathe have decided a change is needed.
