Jimmy Cliff, the Jamaican reggae legend who gave us so much incredible music over a decades-long career, died at the age of 81.

There was I Can See Clearly Now. There was You Can Get it If You Really Want, along with the rest of the songs from The Harder They Come soundtrack that brought reggae into mainstream culture. There was Many Rivers to Cross. He was an absolute all-time great in the genre, and he was even an actor in Perry Henzell's The Harder They Come, starring as Ivan Martin.

What was the cause of death? His wife Latifa Chambers posted on Cliff's Instagram that it was "due to a seizure followed by pneumonia."

"To all his fans around the world, please know that your support was his strength throughout his whole career," she wrote. " He really appreciated each and every fan for their love."

Sending good thoughts to his family and loved ones.
