The state teachers union is praising the decision to reinstate the Barrington teacher who had been placed on paid leave in early September.
The teacher, Ben Fillo, was put on leave after he posted a video to TikTok criticizing Charlie Kirk, the 31-year-old conservative political speaker who was shot and killed during an event on a Utah college campus.
On Friday morning, Nov. 21, the district’s interim superintendent announced Fillo would be returning to the classroom early next month.
