MIDDLESBROUGH have confirmed the appointment of Kim Hellberg as their new head coach.

The Swede has left his previous position at Hammarby to take over on Teesside as the permanent replacement for Rob Edwards, who walked out to take charge of Wolves earlier this month.

Hellberg will be at the Riverside as Boro take on Coventry City tomorrow evening, but having taken charge of the club's last two matches, Adi Viveash will remain in interim charge for the meeting with the Championship leaders.

Viveash will form part of Hellberg's new-look coaching team on Teesside, with the 37-year-old also set to be joined by his long-standing assistant David Selini, who worked alongside him at Hammarby.
