It takes next to no time at all to fall in love with Scotland's 'Romantic Restaurant of the Year'.

The butterflies had first started on the approach to the Pierhouse Hotel, perched on the shores of Loch Linne in the small, sleepy village of Port Appin.

Feelings grew stronger yet as we walked through their doors to be greeted by the gentle heat of the stove fire and laughter from the bar area, where wellie-clad dog walkers and scrubbed-up date-night couples alike looked comfortably settled in for the evening.

Now that we've claimed our table by the curved wall of the dining room, one glance over a dream menu of local seafood from confirms it. I'm hopelessly head over heels with this place.
