PIKE COUNTY, Ohio — A man was arrested and charged in the fatal shooting of another man in Pike County on Sunday.
Around 8:25 a.m., deputies were called to the 400 block of Curtis Lane for a report of a shooting. According to the sheriff’s office, the 911 caller told dispatchers that a man was shot in the head by another man.
The sheriff’s office identified the man shot as Jason Scott. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities identified the alleged gunman as Christopher Barfield. He left the scene but was later apprehended, according to the sheriff’s office.
Details on what led to the shooting were not provided.
Barfield is charged with aggravated murder and is being held at the Ross County jail.
