BOISE, Idaho — Six years ago, Launee Wolverton came up with a simple idea to help women in the Treasure Valley in crisis.

She started filling gently used purses with items like shampoo, soap, razors, deodorant, makeup, and other essentials. Then she would make sure they got into the right hands in our community.

That idea has now turned into a thriving nonprofit called Purses with a Purpose. The nonprofit helps hundreds of women in need each month. That growth is something Wolverton never anticipated.

"Over 500 purses, every single month, it's over 500," Wolverton said. "I cannot believe it."
