CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Beloved Browns legend Bernie Kosar, who underwent a liver transplant on Nov. 17, is expected to be released from University Hospitals Monday.

Kosar received the liver from Bryce Dunlap, 21, of North Olmsted. Dunlap passed away unexpectedly due to complications from an anoxic brain injury.

Kosar publicly thanked Dunlap’s family on his Facebook page and called the transplant “great gift.”

In summer 2024, the legendary quarterback was diagnosed with liver failure and Parkinson’s disease.

“Thank you all for the love, prayers, and support on this road to recovery — it truly keeps me going," posted Kosar on Facebook.
