Most mornings in the McHugh household begin before sunrise.

David and Ashley's alarms go off at 5:30 a.m. before they begin to wake their daughters, Riley and Jordyn.

“We tag team the girls,” Ashley said. “Once we’re all ready, David gets Riley out of her room and then we get Jordyn up. If he isn’t taking her to the babysitter, he’s usually leaving around 6:45.”

Ashley drives to Sinton, where she teaches and coaches the girls basketball team. David drives to Bishop, where he just completed his first season as the program's head football coach.

David, 31, and Ashley, 32, are used to busy schedules after competing as athletes in high school and college. The couple met during a track meet in high school when David attended Ingleside and Ashley was in Sinton.
