ELKTON — After Friday’s game, Walkersville football players sat on the turf as the team’s seniors took turns standing up and saying a few words that generated plenty of emotion, both for those talking and those listening.

It’s never easy when a season ends, especially when the Lions had realistic hopes of continuing theirs for at least one more week.
