The seemingly never-ending construction on Garner Road in Ancaster is expected to wrap up later this month — more than a year later than originally planned.
Ed English, the city’s construction manager, recently told The Spectator the $5.2-million trunk sanitary sewer project along the eastern section of the roadway — originally slated to finish in fall 2024 — should be done by the end of November. He said a series of challenges spawned project delays — including bad weather, poor ground conditions and the insolvency of a major contractor.
“It looks like they’re going to get things wrapped up by the end of the month,” English said. “Good news for the city, good news for the residents. It’s been a tough go for them.”
