1 The Public Art Commission’s mission emphasizes enhancing the visual environment and strengthening Fort Wayne’s neighborhoods. And there have been some amazing projects created around the city. But what kind of public art projects should people expect in the next few years?

Huddleson: In addition to the beloved crosswalk murals and clean drain murals the commission annually partners on, a special selection committee has invited light designers and artists from the region and around the world to submit qualifications to create a light sculpture that will be installed in downtown Fort Wayne. The sculpture will replace the existing artwork in the 77 Steps Alleyway on the south side of West Berry Street between Harrison and Calhoun streets.
