Twenty-three Pyrenees dogs are in need of a Christmas present – a new and loving home where they will be well cared for.

The animals were among 62 dogs and puppies rescued by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office in late September, from a property where they were badly neglected.

OHS Director of Adoptions, Eleena Fikham, says loving homes will be life-changing for these 23 special dogs. She is appealing to the community to display compassion and give the animals a chance to thrive.

She says the Pyrenees dogs have made good progress, and while some remain timid, they have blossomed from frightened and withdrawn to loving and playful.
