Jimmy Cliff was an absolute legend in the reggae world, one of the names who brought the music from Jamaica to the mainstream with hit after hit. He was also an actor in The Harder They Come.
As the world mourns the loss of the singer -- he was 81 and died after "a seizure followed by pneumonia," according to his wife Latifa Chambers -- it's a good time to look back at some of his best songs, including one that he didn't write (I Can See Clearly Now, which he did for the Cool Runnings soundtrack), but one that he popularized again with a terrific recording.
Here are his best songs, in no particular order:
You Can Get It If You Really Want
I Can See Clearly Now
Wonderful World, Beautiful People
Many Rivers to Cross
RIP to an all-time great.
