The Kansas City Chiefs were in dire position against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday afternoon with their playoff hopes waving goodbye in the fourth quarter.

However, Patrick Mahomes and company rallied from a 20-9 deficit in the fourth quarter as the defense stood tall, not allowing the Colts to gain a first down in the fourth quarter or overtime as Kansas City escaped with a 23-20 victory.

"This is exactly what we needed, to win against a really good team and the game is not going your way," Mahomes said after the game. "You could've folded in that situation -- and kind of the rest of the season -- but guys responded. It was a do-or-die type of thing. Guys made plays happen."

While the Chiefs got the win, they suffered an unfortunate development in the process.
