More than 200 people patronizing the Celtic Crossing Tavern in Kings Park on Saturday night were younger than the legal drinking age, authorities found during a state liquor authority inspection.
Three bartenders were charged with selling alcohol to a person under age 21, according to Suffolk County police.
Police officers, the state liquor authority and the Smithtown fire marshal carried out an inspection at the bar on Pulaski Road, where they found underage drinkers and a loaded shotgun, police said.
Authorities said the bar was cited with 10 code violations.
The bar will remain closed until the violations are cleared, police said.
When reached by phone on Sunday morning, Melissa MacDougall, an owner of the bar, declined to comment "at this time." By Tracy Tullis tracy.tullis@ne
