Top-seeded and undefeated Classical used a stunning rally to capture the 2025 Division III football title with a 40-28 victory over second-seeded Mt. Hope Sunday afternoon, Nov, 23, at Cranston Stadium.
The Purple won the title by winning the second half, decisively. Classical trailed 28-6 mid-way through the second quarter, then scored 34 unanswered points, 26 in the second half alone, en route to the championship.
The Purple finished their fall 10-0 in league games, including three victories in the playoffs. For the Huskies, who lost to Classical 18-17 in their season opener, their D-III slate ends with an 7-3 mark.
Classical's Bam Adebayo was named as the game's most outstanding player. The senior raced 66-yards for the game-winning touchdown with 5 minutes, 33 seconds
